Stephanie Haiar (Project Director: May 2007 to September 2008)
Purchase of storage furniture and preservation supplies to rehouse correspondence, vital records, photographs, books, and other materials that document the history of the Orphan Train Movement in the United States, 1854 to 1930.
This grant will be used to preserve and rehouse the archival and artifact collections of the National Orphan Train Complex. The goals of this project are to provide an archival environment to preserve this collection and make it available for research, education, and exhibition. This will be accomplished through the purchase of storage shelves, boxes, folders, labels, and other similar archival material. These will be used to store and preserve our collection according to appropriate archival standards and procedures.
