To support an edition of the letters of Edith Wharton, the American Novelist (1862-1937), the first collection of Mrs. Wharton's letters ever to be published. The edition will contain approximately 800 letters organized chronologically into 4 major sections with annotation and sectional introductions intended to make the letters accessible to both general and scholarly readers.
