General operating support for state or territorial humanities council

The Nebraska Committee will operate during the second year under the theme: "Nebraska Communities Face the Future: Public Issues and Community Decision Making." The new theme is focused and concrete, of immediate interest to a large number of Nebraskans, appeals to a broad range of academic humanists, is distinctly policy oriented, and has strong applicability to the disciplines of the humanities. The Committee will increase its use of media, especially in rural areas and devote a greater portion of staff time to developing the program in smaller, rural communities.
