Gerrie Bay Hall (Project Director: July 2025 to present)

A series of public programs, educational initiatives, and commemorative ceremonies that celebrate the enduring significance of American values like military service, civic responsibility, innovation, and perseverance at the Intrepid Museum, New York, New York.

As the nation approaches its 250th anniversary, the Intrepid Museum’s mission takes on renewed relevance. Through its exhibitions and programs, the Museum invites the public to engage with the core values that have shaped the American experience and to consider how those ideals continue to influence our shared future. With support from NEH’s Celebrate America! grant, the Museum will present a series of public programs, educational initiatives, and commemorative ceremonies designed to foster reflection on the enduring significance of service, civic engagement, innovation, and resilience. These offerings will connect past and present, giving participants of all ages meaningful opportunities to engage with the values that define American democracy. Programs will include student sessions featuring veteran speakers, as well as educator- and curator-led activities for families centered around the Museum’s poignant Veterans Day, Pearl Harbor, and May, Pearl Harbor and Memorial Day ceremonies.
