Medal of Honor Valor Trail

FAIN: ZZ-310277-25

American Battlefield Trust (Washington, DC 20005-1717)
James Campi (Project Director: August 2025 to present)

This grant request would allow the American Battlefield Trust to design, fabricate, and install four (4) cutting-edge, permanent interpretive signs that would recognize a group of Americans who perhaps most demonstrate the exceptional values and achievements of our nation: recipients of the Medal of Honor. Each “gateway” sign – in addition to signaling to visitors that the historic site has a connection to the Medal of Honor – will provide expert historical interpretation and practical wayfinding information for visitors to learn more about the heroes who performed acts of valor at the corresponding location. The Trust and their partner, the Congressional Medal of Honor Society, have selected four sign locations in Virginia for their proximity to heritage tourist destinations and their ability to celebrate key milestones in our nation’s 250-year history through stories of American bravery.
