To plan a series of programs on 20th century Canadian culture, focusing on history; literature, art and architecture, education and the bilingual society. Important academic humanists from Canada and the U.S. will be invited to participate at events held at the Hirshhorn Museum and the Phillips Gallery, and other institutions in D.C. will be urged to coordinate their activities with the period of the symposium.
