To defray costs of convening and coordinating a task force with the following missions: 1) effect policy changes in higher education institutions regarding foreign language teaching; 2) identify priorities for pedagogy, curriculum development, etc., in commonly taught languages; 3) less commonly taught languages; 4) disseminate information on foreign language teaching; and, 5) maintain contact with Federal agencies active in this area.
