To sponsor 3 panels to take place at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in conjunction with the exhibition of 200 photographs from the collection of Samuel Wagstaff. The symposium will bring together leading scholars, critics, educators, and collectors in the field of photography to discuss both the exhibition and the larger issues pertaining to the current extraordinary interest in photography. The three panels will discuss: 1) the history of photography, 2) the collecting of photographs, and 3) the aesthetics of photography.
