A two-year project to develop a new course for English majors focused on twenty-first-century literature, media, and criticism.
The proposed project will support the creation of a class called 'Publishing Today' that will reinvigorate interest in majoring in English literature at Le Moyne College. The course will teach English majors about the current landscape of the publishing industry today. The course will feature guest speakers and experts from a range of different kinds of presses and will also include editors or other professionals from media outlets and popular literary magazines as well as literary focused nonprofits and independent bookstores. Funding for this class will provide students with needed internships.
