A "Humanities in the Schools" program supporting one- to two-week-long summer institutes on significant themes in American history and literature for teachers in Connecticut.

The Connecticut Humanities Council seeks $57,490 to incorporate a "We the People" request for proposals in "Humanities in the Schools (HITS)", its recenty reinstituted granting program supporting content- based summer institutes, seminars, and other professional development opportunities for Connecticut teachers, K12. The RFP will signal a special CHC interest in professional deveopment programs which engage teachers in the study and discussion of the defining themes, istitutions and personalities of the American past.
