An Emancipation Day event; "Soul of the City," a three-day leadership development seminar for high school students; and four episodes of the educational cable television series, "Humanities Profiled."

HCWDC will present programs that examine the concepts of Freedom, Rights and Responsibilities of citizenship using the Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence and Emancipation Proclamation as the focus for activities. Programs include: an EMANCIPATION DAY event; SOUL OF THE CITY, a three-day leadership development seminar for high school students that looks at the selected concepts as they relate to local communities through the filter of History, Ethics, Public Spaces and Literature; and our HUMANITIES PROFILED educational television series that reaches 200,000 households in DC.
