A series of humanities activities, including Heartland Chautauqua, the Road Scholars speakers bureau, and a special grant program that focuses on significant events and other themes in American history and culture.

We the People in Illinois constitutes a variety of humanities activities that encourage greater public understanding of and appreciation for American history and culture. These include Heartland Chautauqua, Road Scholars speakers bureau, and the announcement of the IHC’s special interest in grant applications on We the People themes. These programs will address milestones in American history, such as the Lewis and Clark expedition and the Brown v Board decision, as well as other smaller, yet significant topics in American culture.
