Jessica E. Becker (Project Director: March 2004 to September 2006)

To support the A MORE PERFECT UNION project: book discussions, author tours, online activities, museum exhibits, and children's activities. The goal is to prompt consideration of the benefits of participatory democracy.

A MORE PERFECT UNION (AMPU) is an initiative of the Wisconsin Humanities Council designed to encourage Wisconsin residents to engage in critical, relevant discussion about current political processes and American history. Through book discussion groups, author tours, on-line activities, museum exhibits, and children's activities, AMPU uses literature to invite people in Wisconsin to shape and inform views on political integrity, the nature of democracy, and the roots of today’s system of justice. AMPU prompts Wisconsinites to consider the benefits of participatory democracy.
