A grant program to increase knowledge among middle and junior high school students about the history of the Commonwealth, its relationship to the United States, and the responsibilities of individuals in a democratic society.

The project is a targeted regrant program to increase knowledge among middle and junior high school students about the history surrounding the creation of the CNMI, its unique political status with the United States, and the responsibilities of individuals in a democratic society. Eligible schools, teachers, and organizations may apply for funding to support activities such as lectures by experts, site visits to democratic institutions, interviews with knowledgeable individuals, exploration of current issues through fora and discussion groups, and original research.
