To support the Humanities Council's 10th annual Book Festival in February 2006, and to support grants throughout the state on themes related to American history and culture.

With $30,000 in outright We the People funds and $15,000 in gift and match, the Humanities CouncilSC will host its 10th Annual SCBook Festival in February 2006. The SCBook Festival is a widely anticipated statewide cultural event that is free and open to the public. Featuring award-winning authors, writers, humanities presenters and poets, the 2006 SCBook Festival is expected to attract a crowd of close to 6,000 to Columbia, South Carolina for two days of humanities programming. The remaining $24,000 will maintain the WTP history-themed re-grant RFP for a fall 2005 major grant review.
