To support speakers bureau presentations, a teachers' institute, reading and discussion programs, Smithsonian exhibit programming, an initiative on American Roots Music and Idaho's folk traditions, special speaker programs, and regrants.

The IHC proposes several programs to explore “We the People” Themes: (1) 50 Speaker’s Bureau presentations examining WTP topics; (2) an institute on the presidency of Abraham Lincoln; (3) a series of reading/discussion programs, exploring American identity; (4) public programs complementing Smithsonian exhibits; (5) a multi-faceted initiative examining American Roots Music along with Idaho’s own folk traditions; (6) special speaker programs, and (5) offering regrants for related programs.
