Maine Humanities Council (Portland, ME 04102-1012)
Victoria B. Bonebakker (Project Director: May 2006 to May 2009)

Adventures in American Literature, an all day public program on a significant piece of American literature ; the development of new series for the New Books, New Readers and Let’s Talk About It reading and discussion programs; oral history workshops, and a cultural heritage tour of the Kennebec and Chaudière rivers, a 230-mile corridor spanning Maine and much of Québec Province.

We the People in Maine consists of four components that will expand and strengthen the Maine Humanities Council's programming and resources specifically related to themes and topics drawn from American history and culture. Based on proven models, the four projects will reach out to a wide diversity of Mainers, expanding their knowledge and appreciation of their country's history and culture.
