The development of a Chautauqua program based on important figures in North Dakota history and culture and continued development of the Council's new North Dakota Reads book discussion program.

The NDHC plans to create a corps of Chautauqua scholars to research and interpret important figures to the state’s history and culture. Nine scholars will tour the state in groups of three for weekend Chautauqua programs. These same scholars will also conduct programs individually through the Speakers Bureau. The NDHC will also continue development of North Dakota Reads, a new and successful book discussion program, which will complement the themes explored by the Chautauqua programs.
