Wyoming Humanities Council (Laramie, WY 82072-3459)
Victoria F. Sherry (Project Director: May 2007 to March 2008)
Jennifer A Ingram (Project Director: March 2008 to May 2011)

The Wyoming Humanities Council will explore American history from the Civil War to the Civil Rights movement as well as the role of the West in the social and cultural movements of the 1950s and 1960s. Preservation Access grants will provide long-standing support to Wyoming's cultural infrastructure.

WHC proposes AMERICAN JOURNEYS, a project that includes a film series, book discussion series, speakers forum and grant initiative. The programs draw on history and literature to explore changing visions of America from the Civil War of the 1860s through the 1960s counterculture. Themes for public discussion include changing concepts of justice and equality, the New West, challenges to class structure and post-war shifts in traditional American values and morals.
