Sixth Annual Festival of Books

To support the sixth annual Festival of Books sponsored by the South Dakota Humanities Council, including outreach by three art historians to 15 communities for programming related to Picturing America and the connections, both artistic and literary, to the history of South Dakota.

SDHC seeks funding for the Sixth Annual Festival of Books. Louise Erdrich, Lincoln author John Waugh, 50-60 authors, and 6,000 visitors will explore significant events and themes in American history and culture through history and tribal writers, poetry, fiction, children’s, nonfiction, and writers’ support. The Authors in the Schools program assists 12,000+ students explore America’s defining principles. Some funds will be used for speakers’ bureau programs to promote PICTURING AMERICA.
