Production of a new publication titled "Puerto Rico in the World 2010," organized around seven major themes, for use by the general public and in classrooms. Material for the publication will be incorporated into the Puerto Rico Online Encyclopedia and will be available in both Spanish and English.

The purpose of this project is to produce a reference work of actualized factual information about the social and cultural realities in Puerto Rico in the context of the rapid transformations taking place in the world today. he velocity of structural change in communications technology, the global economy and the ensuing patterns that define the social, environmental and cultural milieu, make it imperative to gather useful information and think anew the human challenges of the contemporary world. This project is based in the assumption that the democratic system of government and the life of individual liberty depends on an informed and educated public.
