To support K-12 civic education mini-grants, with emphasis on Rhode Island history and alignment with state standards in civic education and historical perspectives; public summits to showcase work by grantees; extending the lifespan of grantee projects through digital formatting.

The Rhode Island Council for the Humanities requests funds to expand public access to – and deepen public understanding of – American history and culture. RICH will do this by offering additional funding for our K-12 civic education mini-grants, with an emphasis on Rhode Island history and alignment with state standards in civic education and historical perspectives. We also will hold a series of statewide public summits to showcase the exhibits, lectures, and discussions undertaken by our grantees. In addition, we will ensure increased access to materials and resources by recording and digitizing the work exhibited in these summits and the dialogue generated by these convenings.
