"Alaska: We the People" Abstract: The Alaska Humanities Forum invites Alaskans to the learned teaching, study, and greater public understanding of US History, culture, and civic principles in "Alaska: We the People." In "Alaska: We the People" AKHF cultivates critical and creative exploration of the many aspects of Alaska's history and culture, with specific respect as part of the US experience. "Alaska: We the People" will a two-fold project. The first will be a competitive regrant program, advertised by print media, newsletter, mailers, and internet for projects and activities relating to Alaska's history and culture, with specific respect to the US experience and shared civic life. The second will be dedicated to an update of format and content of "Alaska History and Culture Online Curriculum" (www.akhistorycourse.org), an AKHF-developed project that is the only standard curriculum for the State of Alaska's new high school graduation requirement of competency in Alaska studies.
