The fabrication and installation of a new permanent visitor orientation exhibition at the Weeksville Heritage Center.

The Society for the Preservation of Weeksville and Bedford-Stuyvesant History, a.k.a. Weeksville Heritage Center (WHC), requests a grant for the fabrication and installation of our permanent visitor orientation exhibition titled "Discovery through Points of Wonder." This interactive exhibition will orient visitors to our campus and present information about the historic Weeksville community and the Historic Hunterfly Road Houses. The exhibition will immerse the visitor in the positive contributions everyday African Americans have made to the development of Brooklyn and the United States through objects from WHC's collection and digital interactive components. "Discovery through Points of Wonder" will open to the public with our new Education and Cultural Arts Building in October 2011.
