A building renovation to create the Autry Resources Center (ARC), a collections care and research facility.
The Autry Resources Center is a state-of-the-art collections and conservation center currently under construction in Burbank, CA. Located 2.7 miles from the Autry National Center of the American West's primary campus, the Autry Resources Center will serve the public as a prominent destination for a broad constituency of scholars and researchers representing tribal, academic, cultural, educational, and artistic communities and organizations. A library complex will welcome these diverse stakeholders and facilitate significant study of these collections that document the peoples and cultures comprising the history of the American West. The facility will care for and store the museum's collections in a manner that is sensitive to both tribal and museum requirements for access and preservation. Resulting synergies and institutional collaborations in the humanities will support the Autry’s efforts to present the history the American West as a complex mosaic of interwoven cultures.
