The purchase of an online literary database for use in undergraduate courses, and an endowment for the annual fees of the database as well as additional acquisitions.

Since its change from a two-year to a four-year college in 1996, MSC has considerably expanded the breadth and depth of its humanities curriculum. The Macon State College (MSC) Foundation, Inc., is seeking a $50,000 NEH Challenge Grant, to be matched with $150,000 raised locally, to enhance the supporting humanities collection of the MSC Library. The project will provide a source of funding for immediate and future acquisitions of both print and online resources. The project will allow (1) $40,000 for the outright purchase of the archives of an online literary database and (2) $160,000 for a Humanities Endowment to fund the ongoing costs of online access and print acquisitions as the humanities curriculum continues to expand.
