Endowment for a key humanities staff position, Education Curator, as well as humanities programs.

The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) requests a $500,000 Challenge Grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, to be matched with an additional $2,000,000 in private contributions to the 21st Century Campaign. The grant will provide first-year bridge funding, and then endow the position of Education Curator and augment the Museum’s endowment for education (including interpretation, publications, and public programs), particularly focusing on the humanities and cultural issues of our border region. Dissemination of humanities programming will be dramatically enhanced because of this grant, benefiting the communities we serve.
