Joseph M. Henning (Project Director: November 2003 to June 2004)
Rene M. Kollar (Project Director: June 2004 to December 2010)

Endowment for two interdisciplinary programs: East Asian Studies and the Center for Ethics in Community.

The Challenge Grant Project (CGP) will support further development and institutionalization of programs in East Asian Studies and the Center for Ethics in Community that will serve as catalysts for broad-based interdisciplinary collaboration within Saint Vincent's new School of Humanities and Fine Arts. In East Asian Studies, the CGP will involve curriculum development in Chinese language and literature and the establishment of a regular program of faculty exchanges and study abroad opportunities. In the Center for Ethics in Community, humanities faculty will take the lead in the infusion of ethics across the curriculum. In both areas, the CGP will locate resources for outreach and public programs.
