Establishing The Archives and Research Center

FAIN: CH-50211-06

Trustees of Reservations (Boston, MA 02110-3036)
Susan Edwards (Project Director: November 2004 to May 2009)

Endowment for a full-time archivist and a part-time historic resources manager as well as direct support for equipment purchases and reproduction costs.

The Trustees of Reservations (TTOR) will establish an Archives and Research Center (ARC) for the preservation and conservation of TTOR’s archives, objects, and artifacts. Collectively, these materials tell the history of the cultural landscape of Massachusetts, TTOR’s role in the American land trust movement, and TTOR’s 95 properties which are open to the public. The ARC will provide a secure, climate-controlled environment where collections can be housed, and the program includes digitization of all TTOR collections so that the information will be available online. Preserving these objects and archives at the ARC will ensure that the public will always be able to access and research these significant collections.
