Enhancement of an Education Center through purchase of distance learning and presentational technology; and endowment to support ongoing expenses, such as upgrades, licensing, and maintenance of equipment.

The Digital Humanities Initiative Challenge Grant is the final phase of the LEH's capital campaign - $1,050,000 capital projects and $350,000 Integrating Technology for the Humanities Endowment - that would provide the essential annual capital for maintaining and upgrading equipment, software licensing, and staff training for the integrated technology infrastructure - installation of Wi-Fi Internet-connected presentational technology, enhanced website and e-newsletters, creation of Louisiana Cultural Vistas magazine online and the Louisiana Online Encyclopedia, and the development and transition to an integrated program and grants database--being developed in the Louisiana Humanities Center to help ensure the future of the humanities in Louisiana in the digital age.
