Endow speaker series, fellowships for junior scholars, workshops, and other programs at the Hannah Arendt Center for Politics and the Humanities at Bard College.

The Hannah Arendt Center for Politics and the Humanities' mission is to sponsor the highest quality scholarship on Hannah Arendt, and to be an intellectual incubator for engaged humanities thinking, thinking that elevates the democratic discourse on those difficult and often uncomfortable issues that matter most to our age. The Hannah Arendt Center seeks a $500,000 grant from the NEH. Endowment income would 1) stabilize and enhance the Junior Fellows Program, thus nurturing young humanities scholars; 2) Inaugurate a First-Year Seminar Hannah Arendt Center Distinguished Lectureship that will bring extraordinary scholars to Bard, further integrating The Arendt Center into Bard's undergraduate curriculum; 3) Support annual Arendt Center Working Groups in the Humanities to offer Bard faculty the opportunity for collaborative humanities work that promises to jump-start new research agendas; and 4) Initiate the NEH-Arendt Center Speaker Series at the Bard Graduate Center in NYC.
