Purchase and renovation of an historic building for administrative offices and construction of a new broadcast facility.
Spokane Public Radio (SPR) requests a $500,000 challenge grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to help purchase and renovate a historic building for administrative office space and construct new broadcast studios on an adjoining empty lot. A larger, sustainable facility, built to professional standards, is the foundation for the station’s ability to remain the center for humanities broadcasting in the Inland Northwest region and complete the following long-term objectives: 1) Strengthen SPR’s educational commitment 2) Bridge the gap between rural areas and urban populations 3) Improve the technical quality of our recordings and broadcasts 4) Preserve more cultural stories of our region.
