Society for American Music: Promoting New Scholarship on Music of the Americas

FAIN: CH-51217-14

Society for American Music (Pittsburgh, PA 15260-0000)
Bruce D. McClung (Project Director: May 2013 to May 2024)

Endowment for a range of fellowships and short-term research residencies on American music.

The Society for American Music (SAM) seeks a Challenge Grant in the amount of $150,000 to support new research opportunities in American music. These opportunities form the core of the Society's current endowment campaign for an initiative undertaken in response to a carefully considered revision of the Society's Long-Range Plan conducted over the course of two years (2010-2012). The funds from the Challenge Grant will secure the Society's ability to expand our support for research and educational outreach into American music and musical culture in the Americas.
