Securing the building envelope and replacing damaged windows at the landmark 1908 Beaux-Arts style New-York Historical Society building, to ensure proper climate control and protection of the building’s integrity.

The New-York Historical Society is pleased to present the following proposal to the National Endowment for the Humanities Infrastructure & Capacity Building Challenge Grant program to support the project Securing New-York Historical’s Future: Historic Building Renovation Project. This project will renovate and restore the envelope of New-York Historical’s landmark building on New York City’s Central Park West, a vital next step in securing the future integrity of our historic buildings, the vast humanities collections it houses, and the programming it offers for generations to come. These renovations are essential to ensuring the ongoing security of our remarkable collections, as well as to expanding our capacity to serve our diverse and growing audience of students, teachers, scholars, and the general public.
