Steve M. Frank (Project Director: March 2005 to January 2009)

Construction of a Changing Exhibits Gallery space as well as endowment for partial support of the Director of Exhibits and expenses related to temporary exhibitions.

To continue exploring today's most intriguing constitutional issues and their historical background, the National Constitution Center is establishing a Changing Exhibits Program that will add breadth and depth to what visitors can experience in its permanent exhibition. The Challenge Grant will be used to support the completion of a 6,000 square-foot Changing Exhibits Gallery, and begin an endowment to fund staff costs and planning and implementation expenses. Exhibits will draw on the latest humanities scholarship in a wide variety of disciplines, and will be presented through cutting-edge technology and other innovative display techniques. Planning will be informed by a staff and Board review process, consultation with a Distinguished Scholars Advisory Panel, and interaction with libraries, museums, archives, and other partner organizations around the country.
