National Constitution Center (Philadelphia, PA 19106-1514)
Steve M. Frank (Project Director: February 2006 to November 2011)

Endowment for staffing and related costs to support the Changing Exhibits Program at the National Constitution Center.

The National Constitution Center's (NCC) Changing Exhibits Program Endowment Fund will support both original exhibits created by the NCC staff, and also traveling exhibits created by other institutions. The level of humanities scholarship and the intellectual quality of the exhibits is ensured by the Distinguished Scholars Panel, and constitutional themes will be presented that complement the Center's permanent exhibition, The Story of We the People. These themes will be relevant to contemporary life, such as the First Amendment rights. The need for education about the Constitution and the rights and responsibilities of citizenship among teens and adults has been demonstrated in several recent surveys. Changing Exhibits will address this need. Fundraising to raise the $3 million to match the $1 million challenge grant will take place from October 1, 2006 through September 30, 2010. The Changing Exhibits Endowment Fund will benefit the Changing Exhibits Program in perpetuity.
