Endowment for enhanced programming to promote greater understanding of the American civil rights movement.

The National Civil Rights Museum is applying for an NEH Challenge Grant in United States History and Culture in the amount of $750,000 to establish the Lorraine Endowment Fund for the Humanities. The grant, if awarded, will be matched by $2,250,000 raised in non-federal dollars, raising a total of $3 million. The Museum will continue its fundraising efforts until a total of $10 million is raised to sustain and enhance humanities programs and activities.
