Establishing Northwest College's Intercultural Center

FAIN: CZ-50287-13

Northwest College (Powell, WY 82435-1898)
Harriet Bloom-Wilson (Project Director: February 2011 to April 2012)
Shelby Bonner Wetzel (Project Director: April 2012 to December 2016)

To purchase and renovate a building to house an Intercultural Center and to endow humanities programming at the college and in surrounding communities.

The key objective of the project is to establish an Intercultural Center at Northwest College (NWC) that will create and maintain educational, cultural, and social programs to assist in the advancement of public awareness and discussion of diverse cultures and peoples. By establishing a center with dedicated space, NWC will make a powerful, physical statement of the importance of diversity awareness and global citizenship on our campus and in our community. The interpretive exhibits, speaker series, and other activities presented by the Intercultural Center will serve as forums for communication, discussion and understanding of cultural issues and provide our students and the entire community the opportunity to engage in lifelong learning in the Humanities.
