Essex Community College is employing a consultant's advice to find ways of remedying deficiencies in its humanities program. Preparatory and developmental education having been fragmented in the humanities at the college, consultant aid is being employed in specifically improving student's linguistic abilities, their common store of factual knowledge, particularly in history, as well as student ability to engage in problem solving relating to form and content, and general student alienation from the humanities.
