The grant will be used to hire a consultant who will help the English Department deal with changes that have taken place or that will take place in the near future. The consultant will propose alternatives to the method presently used for teaching literature, suggest means of helping the faculty adapt to the advent of a new calender, general education, the possibility of interdisciplinary programs, and noncredit continuing education.
