To help in organizing the humanities core courses for greater coherence by fostering interdepartment collaboration; discussing the pros and cons of senior level core courses which address directly the methodology of the human disciplines; giving every department the responsibility of teaching students to speak and write intelligently; discussing proposals for interdisciplinary study, and, breaking down the dichotomy between liberal and professional education.
