Witherspoon Institute (Princeton, NJ 08540)
Bradford P. Wilson (Project Director: October 2006 to July 2012)

The creation of an online resource center on the concepts of natural law and natural rights and their relationship to the American founding and American constitutionalism.

The Witherspoon Institute proposes to organize an online resource center on "Natural Law, Natural Rights, and American Constitutionalism." The Online Center will be administered by the Witherspoon Institute with direction from an advisory board of scholars. The goal of the center is to create an online resource that encourages the study of the role that the natural law played or did not play in shaping the American Constitution. To that end, the online center will provide access to seminal texts from advocates and critics of natural law, contemporary thought on natural law and natural rights, texts and speeches from the American tradition that discuss the role of natural law and natural rights in the American republic, and outlines and questions for discussing natural law theory's role in American political history.
