De Anza College's California History Center for Local Studies was established in 1967 to promote interest and research into local history by college students from the Foothill Community College District. The present proposal seeks funds to continue these activities and to expand the program: 1) to provie an in-service training program for local high school history teachers; 2) to provide workshops, conferences field trips, and specialists to supplement the history course; 3) to increase, preserve and make readily available the collection of local artifacts.
