To make a group of ten documentary films for use in college anthropology courses and high school soical studies classes. Through the use of ethnographic film the project seeks to enlarge the methods by which students in social anthropology can recognize their subjects as unique individuals, not simply as anonymous components of social mechanisms. The films will be made in Uganda, East Africa and will focus on a single significant experience of an individual passing through the important change of status in Jie society from an unmarried to a married man.
