FAIN: EH-10438-72

Susannah Hoffman (Project Director: September 1972 to present)

To make a 40-minute ethnographic film about the subordination of women in Kypseli. The peasants who live in Kypseli divide space and time according to an underlying pattern based on the separation of the sexes. This division in turn affects the village social structure. The film will employ the structuralism of Claude Levi-Strauss to unravel the order of life in this Greek village.
