Philosophy of Medicine

To explore the philosophical or conceptual elements of science in order to introduce the study of the philosophy of medicine into schools of philosophy and medicine. The research will be done by two philosophers on the medical school staff (Department of Humanities). During the 2 year grant period they expect to produce a book (an introduction to the Philosophy of Medicine), an annotated bibliography and papers published in philosophy and medical journals. Formal evaluation will be done by five experts at the end of the first and second years.
