Film for the Humanities

To explore new ways of using films as humanisitic documents in their own right. To report and evaluate two experimental core courses with include film: on on the genre of comedy from Shakespeare to the present, and a second American Studies Course on the period of the 1930s. The goal will be to work out two courses of a type often taught in the humanities so that they include film as a recognized and natural part of the teaching process.
