This curriculum project now consists of two courses which integrate the humanities, social sciences, and the performing arts by in-depth investigation of two selected periods of history. The students consider artistic forms in the context of various forces operative in the specific historical period. The production of works from the selected period add another dimension to the study. This grant will enable the project team to develop two more courses, to evaluate them by a series of standardized instruments, and to prepare a Manual of Classroom Experience for distribution to institutions having humanities and performing arts programs.
