Warren M. Roberts (Project Director: January 1975 to present)
To consolidate the curatorial, bibliographic and photographic resources of the Museum of African Art into a Department of Higher Education--African Art Studies. During the one-year planning period, an advisory committee of African specialists will assist the planning staff in devising program content, in studying the African Arts Studies programs of some 7 universities, and in soliciting the interest of Washington area colleges in creating a local program of African Art Studies. The Department's teaching approach will be interdisciplinary and the Studies will be enhanced by the use of the Museum's resources. Evaluation of content and structure will be conducted by the advisory committee.
