To develop, teach, and evaluate course entitled "Television Inside and Out." The course will include: 1) a history of television broadcasting; 2) an overview of television technology; 3) "inside" dimensions such as the aesthetics of light and color, space, time, and motion, sound, and the traditions and constraints of various television genres; "outside" dimensions, such as the impact of television on consumerism, politics, literacy, and visions of social reality.
